Compliment Chain!

Sep 22, 2011

I “teach-lifted” this idea from my friend Deirdre a million years ago, and still use it everyday. I maintain a compliment chain to record the compliments we receive for walking in line and for our behavior in specials.  The class receives one link for every compliment.  When the chain hits the floor, they receive a reward.  It is a very visual reminder of their excellent behavior! Sometimes it is an ice cream party, or popcorn and a little movie.  Once I did a waffle breakfast… which they loved, and was pretty cheap, too.  You might notice that the chain is in a pattern, too. After it hits the floor, we will start a harder pattern. This is one of the classroom jobs from my job wheel that I have the kids do, too.
